Skip the glitter because it doesn’t help the sand, water, and creatures. You can make or buy plain shredded paper confetti. You can also decorate with chunky, reef-safe materials.

Speaking of going reef-safe, that’s a great criterion for sunscreen and similar products. We can reduce forever chemicals in the water by choosing these products more carefully.
Packaging-free foods and glass or stainless-steel containers
Sure, you could bring packaged snacks and meals. However, there’s less chance of a wrapper flying away in the wind if you bring unpackaged foods in containers. It’s a convenient way to share refreshments for a party, anyway.
