Reasons to create regardless of results
We need to explore creativity, whether it achieves quantifiable success or simply exists in its own right. Here are some reasons why everyone should create anything and take the pressure off.
Maintain Habits
Get into the routine of creating. You might get closer to your goals over time if you keep up the habit. Or you may find comfort in the stability of doing something over time.
I make this claim with plenty of hypocrisy. I return to creative outlets after drifting away from them. Such a pattern repeats over the months.
Thinking Outside the Box
When we make something new, it is an opportunity to innovate. Free yourself from your censorship and see what emerges. When we create without pressure, we can try interesting ways that may not be justified by numbers. Then the magic happens.
Sharing Ideas
I recently shared my favourite healthy affordable foods, when chatting in a social media group. People wanted more information. They appreciated the information. I had been taking my lifestyle for granted. It’s normal for me. But to other people, these ways can make life easier. I realised I should create anything that helps people to find abundance.
Generosity
Many people find happiness and meaning when giving generously. Our creations have the potential to support people. If you know how to cook, you could prepare a meal for someone in need. If you have an artistic flair, make a greeting card or gift to brighten someone’s day.
Build value over time
Have you seen Youtube channels that share hours of informative videos, and occasionally mentioned their products or services? This is because the leaders provide value to audiences and then offer something to those who want more.
We live in a world that is filled with information overload. Although there is space for all of us, we need to share our unique voices. How do you present something in a way that nobody else can? What can people learn from your personal experience? By creating without expecting anything in the short term, we share ourselves with the world.
