The secret to a more diverse porridge
Everyone should be cooking oats in Australia’s cold weather at the moment. The only thing that’s better than steamy porridge is a bowl that contains an abundant diversity of plants. Here is an easy way to get more goodness in your morning breakfast.
Nuts for brain health
Go nutty! I recently began chopping mixed nuts for my porridge because they bring more benefits for wellness. I found a mix that included hazelnuts, which are known for treats (healthier than Nutella), Brazil nuts and more. You can toss together any combination of nuts to then chop or blend them for a porridge topping.
More ideas: seeds and flavours
Let’s take it further. Linseed and chia seeds are defaults in all my porridge batches. If you want to add even more goodness, try natural flavours that are good for you. Cacao is a wonderful treat in the morning. Balance it out with some maple syrup or refined-sugar-free sweetener of choice. Cinnamon is also a classic.
However you make your porridge, let get nutty and tasty!
