Blend it into smoothies

When you cut a fresh pineapple, freeze chunks of the core. You wouldn’t munch on a pineapple core. But it blends into sweet, healthy drinks. I tossed an organic carrot into my Thermomix with some frozen pineapple core and pieces of fresh ginger and turmeric. I splashed water into the tub to thin the beverage. You could add some fruit juice instead without additives or sugar.

Make a healthy sorbet

You can also use similar ingredients in different proportions to make a sugar-free sorbet. It’s refreshing in hot weather.

Store the core in jars or reusable containers

It is easier to freeze foods in sustainable containers. Some jars are alright but you should choose wisely.

Sustainably sweet

Were you previously throwing away your pineapple core? Now you have some ways to enjoy it.
