The unexpected things I buy more

Eco

I generally try to be a minimalist with my shopping routine and household habits. But I get more of some things for important reasons.

Sergeant Pepper tee shirts (The Beatles)

After I lost one Beatles tee shirt, I want to prevent that feeling of loss. I bought a new Sgt. Pepper tee shirt and want to find a few more. I only shop for these tees at online second hand stores, to be extra eco.

Huskee coffee cups

I now own extra Huskee cups. I bought a few of the regular size for myself, with lids. I also have the small size to use as a durable water cup. The Huskee cup is so good because it feels durable.

Sustainable cotton buds

When an online store had a special discount for eco bathroom supplies, I stocked up on these sticks. They clearly don’t go off, so why not?

Bulk spices

I own so much garlic powder, paprika, curry powder and lots of chilli flakes. Why? The bulk bags were such a good deal. I feel grateful for the abundance and cost savings. I bought these kilo and half kilo bags from an Indian store. Those flavourings will last so long!

Dry legumes

How often do I go on and on about dry beans and lentils? They are so useful! I recently made a taco-flavoured seasoning for some boiled lentils before heating them with corn and clearance spinach. That simple meal went into a wrap for a simple customised dinner.

I have lots of green lentils just like these. Image: Unsplash.
