How I set out to lose weight fast

After a phase of emotional eating in the summer, it was time to get back on track. This is how I planned to drop the kilograms quickly. Here’s a hint. It was all about whole plants.

Oil-Free

I started with a goal of skipping oil for one week. Some say a bit can be alright. However, I needed strict rules because my treats had not been in moderation.

Whole Fresh Fruit

I swapped the smoothies for fresh fruit because it’s more light. It’s easy to enjoy this choice during summer. I adore mangoes, pineapples, nectarines… it’s all delicious!

Back to Whole Grains

It was time to move on from the indulgent white pastas that had became an emotional comfort over weeks. Whole wheat pasta has more fibre and is said to be better for wellness.

This also meant no white pizzas for a while. Luckily, some pizza places provide wholemeal bases. And a homemade pizza would be achievable enough.

What would I eat more? Oats and whole grain sourdough bread. Real food.

Bulky Veggies

My meals would become more bulked out with vegetables like cabbage. I adore that vegetable because it can be an abundant quantity and it’s wonderfully versatile.

Sweet potatoes were another must. I felt ready for more oil-free sweet potato fries, flatbreads, and mash.

No Alcohol

I don’t usually drink much or at all. A couple of organic wines lasted two months. Enough. This is not a judgment on those who enjoy a small glass at the end of the day. But it is part of my personal approach.
