Online gatherings for wellness
Ways to nurture wellness with others at online events - meet people, make friends and feed the spirit
Online events continue to be needed in this era of pandemic and beyond. Yes, us humans need face to face interaction. But virtual gatherings are the next best thing. We can give attention to wellness and spirituality in a group setting to share knowledge, encourage each other and simply try to conquer feelings of loneliness.
2021 has not eliminated the need for online events. The pandemic and other life circumstances influence people's need to virtually meet from a distance. Lockdown continues in parts of Australia. In other areas of the world, stay-at-home orders and other restrictions may be a possibility. Broader life responsibilities, schedules and locations may prevent us from attending events in person. We can have a mix of both offline and online when it's possible. I absolutely believe in the energy of in-person human communities. But I also believe the spirit can be nurtured through a shared consciousness on the internet.
We can nurture ourselves and the planet by attending or creating meaningful online events. I looked to this format in recent days to attempt a feeling of belonging through participation. Here are some kinds of events you could look for in the online space to feed the mind, body and soul.
Workshop or Class
A workshop can guide us to cook with nutritious sustainable food, make crafts with natural materials, DIY something we need, build a business for independence or explore a spiritual concept. This is how we can learn online to care for our selves and surroundings.
Participate in a short session to learn a new skill. Look around on social media and event sites to see what you can find. Marie Forleo will host a free class through her B School. Good practical business wisdom is important when we try to break free. I did a quick search in Facebook Events and found online workshops for creating a macrame mandala, ethical investing, preventing food waste and making zero waste jewellery. Social media is a great place to find like minded people who want to learn something new.
